Annie has worked with Mark Burnett (Eco Challenge), was one of the forces behind the success of
MTV's The Osbournes & The Newlyweds (With Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey) and is now working as an
Executive in Charge of Production for a global program development company, Studio Lambert Ltd.
She & I also worked together on the above mentioned MTV programs & I can tell you first hand that she knows reality TV.
Annie's first paid position in television was as a Production Assistant (PA) A.K.A. the lowest person on the totem pole.
Annie's time with me during this recording is an inside glimpse into the mind of someone who is
intimately aware of what skills each job on a crew requires but also what the
person who actually does the hiring is looking for.
We discuss these crew positions:
Camera Operator, Sound Mixer, AC, Director, Production Coordinator, Story Producer, PA, Technical Supervisor.
She & I also discuss different types of reality programming & how the shows you already watch are defined.
Mostly though, we cover the main types of crew positions found on-location while shooting
reality TV programming. There are as many formats as there are shows so we have chosen to focus on one of our
favorite & arguably one of the most difficult types of show to make, the "docu-soap" or "docu-drama",
as many of the celebrity-driven shows are known.
Here's a sample of what we discuss in the teleseminar:
Annie is one of the people responsible for some of the craziest times I've had in television during my career.
I think you will find our discussion fun to listen to and invaluable if want to make money working in reality TV.
